Mark D. Matteson was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He passed away peacefully at Saint Francis Hospice in Honolulu, Hawaii on Friday, January 3rd, 2025 at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mark was born on December 16, 1953, in Effingham, IL the son of the late Walter "Dean" and Lois (Arnold) Matteson. He married Joyce Patterson on March 15, 1985 in Effingham, IL.
Mark is survived by his children, Christine Haarman, Dale Matteson, Kara Painter, and James Patterson; His Grandchildren, Alexandria Haarman, Mikaela Althoff, Trevor Haarman, Payton Probst, Carter Matteson, Thomas Painter, and Ellis Painter; Great Grandchildren Magnolia and Montgomery Probst; Stepmother, Bernice Matteson; Brothers, Matt Matteson and Scott Matteson; Sisters, Carrie Vahling and Theresa Draper.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Matteson, his Father, Walter "Dean" Matteson, his Mother, Lois (Arnold) Matteson, and his Sister, Cheryl Appelt.
