John F. Soucie, 82, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham with military rites at a later date.

John was born on September 17, 1941 in Kankakee, IL, the son of Victor and Darlene (Betourne) Soucie. He married Joyce Currie on September 1, 1978, and she survives.
John was a very proud Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Ticonderoga in 1959. He worked in the Bourbonnais Illinois Police and Fire Departments and Animal Control. John was a Journeyman A machinist and also held the title of Quality Engineer for the auto industry working in Illinois, Michigan and South Carolina. John's passion was rescuing/ad
